Pre & Post natal Yoga

During pregnancy, it is extremely important that various dimensions of a woman's being are in perfect harmony. The sadhana (practice) of yoga promotes optimum health of body and mind, unifying a mother's physical, emotional and spiritual growth with that of her child.

PRECONCEPTIONAL YOGA:
The regular yoga practice before conception prepares a woman for an ideal pregnancy. It would add great value for the would–be mother like flexibility, suppleness, load her with enough vitality, serenity, calmness and harmony. More important, yoga will enable the mother to develop as a fitting host for a child of more-than-ordinary qualities.

ANTENATAL YOGA:
Yoga is of  great value during pregnancy. The yoga practices advised during pregnancy are simple and easy for even those who have not been doing yoga.

Yoga lays stress on development of certain muscles like that of the abdomen. The asanas strengthen the abdominal muscles that help support the womb in carrying the weight of the foetus. This helps in the proper development of foetus. These muscles help in pushing the baby from the womb.

Yogic Asanas play a big role in strengthening the spine and keeping it healthy and flexible. The spinal cord is very essential for the proper functioning of the nervous system. Strong spine will help prevent the drooping shoulders and low backache, commonly developed during pregnancy because of the additional lweight being carried by the mother.

The weight of the foetus puts a great strain on the back muscles. The practices of some specific asanas provide added strength to this area, which is of great advantage during pregnancy as well as in postnatal conditions.

Yogaasanas specific to the pelvic area, when practised regularly, make the pelvic area relaxed and flexible enough to ensure the easy and normal childbirth. Specially designed Yoga Sadhanas for each of the three trimesters include the integrated and holistic approach of Yoga which suits the to-be-mothers as well as the foetus for the overall wellbeing during pregnancy and later on.

Kids & Adolescent Yoga

Yoga plays a very important role in the structure and development of children’s minds and body. Through yoga, we can restore and maintain the health of the pineal gland, creating a balance between the physiological and emotional personality of the child. That’s why yoga is important in the life of a child in teens, and why yoga should be learnt by children.

Geriatric Yoga

Inactivity, which is prevalent in old age, contributes to chronic pain, joint stiffness, weakness and depression, and can also cause heart disease and osteoporosis.

Our senior population is growing rapidly as is their interest in leading active, fit lives. On the whole, we live longer than we used to, and we all want high-quality living and good health to be a part of our older years. As we grow older, however, we typically become more susceptible to ailments that are linked to ageing.

One of the best activities to combat all of these issues, as far as we are concerned, is yoga.

Yoga improves balance, strength, energy and mental clarity through deep, sustained breathing (pranayama) and a series of gentle standing and seated postures (asanas), meditations and relaxation practice (yoga nidra).  Practitioners focus on proper spinal alignment, increasing blood circulation, calming the nervous system and helping prevent ailments like arthritis, rheumatism and incontinence. Yoga, which means “union”, incites spiritual inquiry as well as physical exploration.
